Shortly after moving into the house, I was trying to go to sleep when I felt the bed shift at the end like someone had just sat down.
When my daughter was 6 months old, I started noticing some unusual behavior. She would laugh and babble like someone was playing with her when no one was there.
I'm back with another Haunted Doll Post..
This time it's Letta The Gypsy Doll
Letta the doll was apparently made 200 years ago by a Romanian gypsy for his son who had drowned.
He had not expected to meet the woman of his dreams, but there she was strolling along in the moonlight beside the cemetery. Carlos quickened his pace until he was level with her, hoping for a glimpse of her face under her veil.
Carlos made a few remarks about the beautiful night and the lovely weather—anything to keep her talking. She stopped abruptly and turned to face him. He caught a glimpse of dark eyes glinting behind the veil.
The Maori are an indigenous people in New Zealand who used to carve out masks and statues prior to heading into battle.
According to the Maori belief system, any man who died in battle would leave his soul behind in one of the warrior masks.
The Anguished man painting: This painting was locked away in an attic for a long time. The original artist painted it with a mixture of blood and paint before killing himself.
I am sure you all know the idiom "Walls Have Ears Doors Have Eyes"
I want to share 2 myths with you One is well known the other one is not so well known especially here in Europe :)
so Let's go with King Midas and his donkey ears
Once upon a time, a long time ago, Pan, the god of shepherds, challenged Apollo to a musical duel. Pan insisted his flute of reeds could produce a more beautiful melody than Apollo's silly harp. The two agreed on a contest with judges. One of the judges was King Midas.
After hearing the two melodies, all but one of the judges chose Apollo as the winner. But one judge, King Midas, preferred Pan's tune.
Furious that anyone could prefer a reedy pipe to his musical lyre, Apollo cooed, "I see the problem. It's your ears. They are too small to hear properly. Let me fix that for you."
Remaining in Louisiana, we now focus our attention on the 215-year-old Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville. The site was commissioned in 1796 by General David Bradford, nicknamed "Whiskey Dave" because of his participation in the Whiskey Rebellion. You kids remember the Whiskey Rebellion from high school history class, right? RIGHT? Anyway, after Whiskey Dave's passing, the plantation was left to his daughter Sara and her husband, Clark Woodruff, who had been one of his law students.
The Vyne Ring or the Ring of Silvianus is a gold ring, dating probably from the 4th century, discovered in a ploughed field near Silchester, in Hampshire, England, in 1785. Originally the property of a British Roman called Silvianus, it was apparently stolen by a person named Senicianus, upon whom Silvianus called down a curse.
The Lydian Hoard is a collection of elaborate jewelry, plates, pots and other golden pieces.
But the brooch and necklace from the Hoard have caused its owners nothing but trouble.
A part of King Croesus' treasure, the loot dates back to 547 B.C. But in 1965 (when it was discovered in an dig in the village of Güre) is when the real trouble begins. The treasure was found in the tomb of an unknown princess, and promptly looted by just about everyone. Over 150 relics were ransacked. Almost all the looters met with sickness, bad luck and death.
