Quija Board: Ouija Warning

Ouija Warning

This incident with a Ouija board happened to my mother back in the 1960s. My mother, who I will call M., and her twin sister, V., attended the same college and lived in the same dormitory. Their dorm was on the second floor of a three-story building, and the third floor had always been locked up and unused.

One day during a blizzard, when classes had been cancelled, my mother and some of her friends were bored and decided to fool around with a Ouija board. First they asked it some basic questions, like who's going to get married first, etc., and "spirits" came through to tell them, among other things, that the third floor of their dorm was unused because it was the scene of a suicide years back. It also said that the floor was haunted, and right after it told them this news, they heard thumps and bumps coming from upstairs.

After they calmed down from that incident, a spirit named Sprite came through to talk to my mother. It told her it was she and V.'s spirit guide (according to Sprite, twins share a apirit guide) and then gave her a warning about a future event.

Sprite told my mother that her twin would be viciously attacked at a celebration in another town, and that it would be my mother's fault. Of course she was very confused as to how something like that would happen to be her fault, but Sprite was very insistent that Mom never leave her twin's side at any celebration they attended together. Sprite even gave her an approximate date that this incident was to take place, which at the time was eight or nine years into the future.

Fast forward to 1976. Mom and V. were attending bicentennial celebrations in a nearby town. The town was packed with thousands and thousands of people (it was kind of a small town anyway). Mom and some friends wanted to go to a certain bar while V. wanted to go elsewhere. They decided to split up and then meet at a certain time in front of a certain bar. Apparently, though my mother forgot all about the appointed time and left V. stranded (much to her chagrin). A guy saw my aunt standing there alone and offered her a ride home. V. agreed and went with him. On the way, he physically attacked her and tried to rape her. She managed to throw open the car door as he was driving away to a secluded spot, and she fell out of the car like a sack of potatoes.

As all this was going on, my mother suddenly realized she had missed her twin, but figured V. had found her way back to their motel. When she arrived at their motel and her sister wasn't there, she of course grew concerned. Finally, the hospital called and said V. had been admitted.

V. had a few broken bones and some bumps and bruises, but would fully recover. My mother, however, suddenly remembered Sprite's warning years before and got chills. Sprite was right – V. had been attacked at a celebration, and since my mother hadn't remembered to pick her up on time, it was basically her fault.

Guilt ridden and freaked out, my mother vowed never to touch a Ouija again and warned me to never touch one either.
